For more than 22 years, Joann has devoted her practice exclusively to the defense of physicians, hospitals, nurses, physician assistants and other healthcare entities. 

Joann has been involved in several high-exposure cases, involving brain-injured infants, as well as in the areas of emergency medicine, surgery, radiology and stroke management. She successfully obtained summary judgment in a matter pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, affirmed by the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, where plaintiff was unable to show a causal connection between an alleged birth injury and autism. 

Joann is directly responsible for identifying and working with highly qualified experts in the fields of Obstetrics, Gynecology, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Otolaryngology and Orthopedics. Joann has assisted with several trials, with the overwhelming majority of those resulting in defense verdicts.

After receiving her Bachelor’s of Arts in Government from Lehigh University, Joann administered federal and state grants in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, focusing on emergency, transitional and low cost housing. In 1999, she received her Juris Doctor from  Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware. 

Joann has been involved in educational seminars involving jury deliberations, expert witness testimony and economic damages, presenting to fellow attorneys and risk managers.

Currently, Joann resides in Narberth, Pennsylvania. She is Past-President of the Lehigh Club of Philadelphia and a former board member of the Lehigh University Alumni Association. She enjoys volunteering at Cradles for Crayons, the Gift of Life House and the Devon Horse Show. She enjoys traveling to different countries and learning about various cultures. On weekends, Joann likes to spend time with family and friends at the beach, or in Center City Philadelphia.
