A trusted member of the Kilcoyne & Nesbitt team since 2006, Laurie was a named Partner of the firm in 2019. She is a skilled trial attorney specializing in all aspects of medical malpractice litigation. Her comprehensive practice includes representing physicians, physician extenders, nurses, therapists, practice groups, long-term care & rehabilitation facilities, and large hospital and health networks. Since joining Kilcoyne & Nesbitt, Laurie has managed hundreds of cases from inception through trial as both lead counsel and second chair. Additionally, she has represented clients at arbitration, mediation, and licensing board matters. An area of special interest, Laurie has also briefed and argued important matters before the Pennsylvania state and federal appellate courts.
Born and raised in Philadelphia and the daughter of two career nurses, Laurie joined Kilcoyne & Nesbitt after beginning her career as a social worker. She later enrolled at Temple University Beasley School of law, where she served on the staff and Editorial Board of the Temple Political and Civil Rights Law Review. During law school, she also worked as an intern at Philadelphia Legal Assistance and honed her skills clerking for several judges, including Hon. D. Webster Keogh and Hon. John J. Poserina, Jr. in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas.
Every year since 2010, Laurie has been selected to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars list, a distinction reserved for no more than 2.5% of attorneys in Pennsylvania who are under the age of 40 or who have been practicing law for less than ten years. She has also served as an attorney mentor for the Temple Law School Women’s Law Caucus and is a member of Lehigh Valley Women Lawyers.
